Equipment Checklist

  • Fly rod/s
  • Fly reels, lines and spare spools
  • Fly fishing Vest containing :
    - leaders and tippet
    - floatant and clippers
  • Selection of dry flies and nymphs( a few #10 and #18, otherwise #12-16). Cicada/hopper patterns can be #8-10
  • Lightweight waders and rubber soled boots( now a legal requirement -must be rubber soled)
  • Quick dry long trousers and shirts
  • Rain jacket
  • Warm jacket
  • Wide brimmed hat or a cap
  • Polaroid fishing glasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera and spare batteries or charger
  • Day pack
  • Sense of humour !
